ROADS TOO SLIPPERY FOR SCHOOL BUS. HANK DRIVES TO SCHOOL.

Raining most of day,

turning to snow in late P.M.

School Bus did not come

this morning on account

of slippery roads.

Hank drove to school

this P.M. and wrote

semester tests in

typing and chemistry.

I went to Lucille's and

helped her "try out" lard.

Has a nice lot of it.

About 150#.

While I am fascinated by "trying out" lard, that is not what strikes me most about this post.

The roads were so slippery that the school bus did not come but Hank drove to school in the afternoon to take two exams.

Can you just imagine the Facebook posts from parents today if their kids had to get themselves to school to take exams on a day when the buses didn't run.

Edna just records the entire thing as a matter of fact.

EDNA DOES LAUNDRY. FDR IS INAUGURATED.

Beautiful day. Quite Cold

this morning.

Washed —clothes dried

nicely, did most of the

ironing to-night.

Henry went to G.R. on

Right of Way.

Orlo drew buzz poles

to-day.

Franklin D. Roosevelt

inaugurated President for

the 3rd term to-day

If you were following Edna's 1936 journal you know that she is not a fan of FDR. I think, given the fact that she underscored 3rd term (not once but twice), she is still not a fan.

I wonder if she will feel any different when he is inaugurated for a fourth term.
