AN EXCITING END TO THE DAY FOR EDNA

Real snappy cold

atmosphere all day.

Sunshine most of day.

Henry + I took Jen to

Blodgett Hospital this P.M.

She has a semi private

room No. 218, sharing

with a Mrs. O'Neal who

is recovering from a

gall bladder operation.

Dr. Thompson (surgeon)

examined Jen thoroughly

and advises an X Ray

for to morrow morning.

Just as I am writing this

Morse + Frances walked in

as surprise as we didn't expect

them until tomorrow night.

Sat up visited until 1:30 AM.

Caledonia won last game of

basketball tournament from Wayland.

Hank made the last points to win.

According to the 1940 census, Morse and Frances were living in Lowell. By 1941, it is possible they were already residing in Jackson. That would make more sense as Lowell is a short jaunt from Bowne Center.

Having her son Morse and his wife Frances home a day early was a welcome surprise. And to top that off, Hank scored the winning basket in the final game of the tournament.

The new year has been a bit exhausting for Edna. This lovely ending to the day must have brought some much needed joy.
