AT LATTER PLACE

ree

Bright sunny day.

Did usual house work

cleaned all over the house.

Alice + I went to Lucille's

to-night. Hank drove car

to school. Caledonia

played basketball with

Kellogsville at latter

place.

Orlo helped Leonard

raise p[?]lines for

addition to his barn.

Edna's journal entires reflect her education and smarts. She received some higher education and, before marrying Henry, was a school teacher.

I give her good marks for spelling and grammar in her journals.

I am a bit amused by her use of "at latter place" in reference to the home field in a basketball game. I think she thought she was rather smart as she wrote those words in her journal.

She was rather smart.
