P.M. — Purchased a wool

shower gift for Helen.

purchased in May but is not

giving satisfaction.

A few days ago, Edna went shopping at a dime store in downtown Grand Rapids. On this day, she went shopping at Wurzburg's.

Wurburg's featured seven floors of shopping. In the 1930's, along with Herpolsheimer's, it was considered one of the finest department stores in Grand Rapids.

Edna went to Wurzburg's to get new tile for her kitchen because the previously purchased tile was"not giving satisfaction." She didn't end her remark with an exclamation point but she did drag the pencil back through the word "satisfaction" for a bit of emphasis.

While at Wurzburg's she also purchased a shower gift for Helen —a blue and yellow blanket. She still hasn't said that Helen is expecting but a blue and yellow blanket seems more likely a baby shower gift than a post-wedding shower gift.
