HOGS, SAUSAGE, EGGS, ROOSTERS

Mild — sunshine this P.M.
Up early this morning. Butchered
a big 500# hog.
Alex & Edwina and Guy Smith
helped. Turned out about 25 gals
lard and made and stuffed
100# sausage. Did all the work
out in the shed.
Walter Wingeier staying all
night with Hank.
I have a cold coming on
affecting my bronchial tubes.
Quiet house to-night.
88 eggs to-day.
Val Watts bought 10 New Hampshire
Red Roosters to put in my flock.
10 roosters weighed 67#
I gave him 4 of my Rock Roosters
in exchange as past payment.
While Edna very likely began her 1936 journal on January 1, eighty four years later the journal is missing the first several pages (as you can see from the photo above).
