According to Edna, Henry and his fellow county commissioners traveled to Cleveland on January 20 for a "road show."
The 1936 NATIONAL ROAD SHOW IN CLEVELAND, OHIO must have been a sight to behold. Caterpillar issues a daily paper filled with news and information.
The paper reported that there were 30 Caterpillar products on display on Caterpillar’s 4,000 square feet of exhibit space and in booths of numerous equipment manufacturers who used Caterpillar engines in their products.
Edna, who as at home in Bowne Center, must have heard the news of the death of King George over the radio. It was significant enough news to her that she noted it in her journal.
In addition to that historic national news, there was also the matter of Hank earning a B+ on his music lessons. She must have been quite proud.
