for Lucille's birthday celebration.
Swans Down Cake Flour first came into existence in 1894. According to the Swans Down website, advertisements for Swans Down Cake Flour first ran in Ladies Home Journal in 1898. In 1904, Swans Down won a grand prize at the World's Fair (St. Louis), propelling it to a household name.
Swans Down frequently published recipes in their advertisements. I've included one circa 1930 that featured a recipe for Angel Food Cake. Swans Down has been part of various companies over the years but are still in existence today. Their website features a variety of recipes including one for Angel Food Cake.
