A FINE SUPPER AND GOOD TIME

Beautiful Day.
Henry, Hank + I went to
Wingeier's for venison supper.
Rode over with Morse. Alex
brought us home.
Fine supper - venison
delicious - good time
Edna enjoyed the venison supper and her time with friends.
I don't much care for venison. I only had it once as a kid so I should maybe I should give it another go.
I do enjoy spending time with friends.
In 2020, dinner parties and get-togethers aren't possible because of COVID-19. I love spending time with family and friends. This year, our Thanksgiving happened without the benefit of company. We are also making plans for a virtual Christmas with with my parents and my brother's family.
My town's annual Christmas parade, which always takes place on the first Saturday in December, was canceled. After a survey of previous participants, the general consensus was that float building and a parade that brings people together in close quarters just wasn't possible. The parade always ends with Santa's arrival atop the Boogie Woogie Choo Choo Train (that looks a lot like Thomas the Tank Engine).
Santa cares about global pandemics but he also cares about kids and people so he wasn't going let the cancellation of a parade stand in his way. So tonight, he climbed atop the Boogie Woogie Choo Choo train and drove a 12-Mile route through town waving at kids and families and teens and adults and senior citizens.
People drove to spots along the route to wave at Santa. They set up bonfires in their driveways awaiting his arrival. They watched from windows inside their homes. They yelled, "Hello, Santa," and "Merry Christmas," and they cheered and smiled and waved. They were all safely social distanced.
I rode in the vehicle leading Santa and his train through town. I witnessed it all. It was magical.
On this day in 1936, Edna noted that she had a "good time." Eighty-four years later her great granddaughter had a good time, too.
Ho, ho, ho!
I am not so adept at getting great pics on my iPhone in the dark ...but you get the idea.
