MARVIN SPENDS THE NIGHT

Cold and stormy part of day.
Roads are drifted in some
places.
Henry went to G.R.
Did regular Sat[urday]'s work.
Marvin Porritt came this P.M. to stay all night with Hank.
Marvin Porritt and Hank are cousins. Marvin's grandmother Lydia and Hank's dad, Henry (Edna's husband) are siblings. Marvin grew up on a farm not far from the Johnson family farm. Marvin and Hank were close in age. Marvin was born in 1922 and Hank was born in 1923.
Not to make things too confusing but siblings Lydia and Henry were the children of James Johnson and Eleanor Nash. Below is a photo of a Nash Reunion that took place in Bowne Center circa 1919. Neither Marvin or Henry, Jr. were born yet but this incredible photo includes many of their relatives including children of patriarch Alden Nash: Daniel, John Francis, Rosalia, and Mary.
The name Alden has been carried forward several generations by several lineages. In fact, there are at least two Aldens in this photo including Alden Nash Porritt and Henry Alden Johnson, Sr.
Several of Henry's decedents carry the name Alden including my own son.
