A BEAUTIFUL DAY, A NEW BABY, AND RED STAYS THE NIGHT

Beautiful Day. Very cool.

Henry + I went to church.

I called at Bob's also called

at Cor[win] Porrit's to see the

new baby girl of

Robt and wife.

Red stayed all night last night

In this entry, Edna says she called on Bob. That's my grandpa. My dad would have been six at this time. His brother, Paul, would have been eight. Paul passed away on June 20, 2020. COVID-19 prevented our family from gathering together to celebrate his life. Paul's son, Dan, passed away just a few days prior to Paul.

On this day in 1936, Edna noted that Red (Laverne) Bryant stayed the evening on the family farm. Helen will soon confide to Edna (her mother) that she is planning to marry Red.

Bowne Center United Methodist Church, the church Edna attended on Sunday, Oct. 11, 1936 is the same church in which (53 years later) I said my wedding vows on October 2, 1999.
