ALICE AND KIDDIES SNOWED IN ON THE FARM

ree

Cold. A bad storm fro

the East. Roads filling up

again.

Alice and kiddies were

going home but gave it up

as the roads are blocked.

Had a letter from Morse

There is something quite nostalgic in the line "Alice and kiddies were going home but gave it up as the roads are blocked."

I imagine the "kiddies" all dressed in their boots and warm jackets heading toward the car and Alice realizing the best option is to stay the night on the farm.

This is the nostalgic part —I want to be trapped in that house during a blizzard with my great Aunt Alice and great grandmother and Roger and Shirley (the kiddies) and Henry (my great grandfather) and Hank (my great uncle).

Also, Morse wrote a letter home that was received on this day. Did Edna read it aloud to the family as they hunkered down during the blizzard or did she keep his letter to herself?
