LONESOME WITH MORSE AWAY

Continued cold. Snow and a

little sunshine.

Helen and I took Morse to

G.R. this morning to get the 8:10

train (CST) to Chicago.

Did a little shopping, reached

home at 11:30 A.M.

Went to Lucille's this P.M.

Henry, Jr did all the chores

to-night.

Henry returned from Lansing

at 8 P.M

Lonesome to-night with Morse

away.

The image to the left is what Union Depot/Station in Grand Rapids looked like around the time Morse took the train from Grand Rapids to Chicago. The station was demolished in 1958/59 to make way for a highway.

Pictured below is a Pere Marquette locomotive at Union Station in Grand Rapids in 1937. This was the same style engine used in 1936 when Morse traveled to Chicago.
