O GEE BUT I'M DISAPPOINTED

O gee but I'm disappointed.

Roosevelt won by a plurality of

7,000,000 votes over Landon.

Gov. Fitzgerald was defeated by

Frank Murphy - Carl Mapes Rep

U.S. Senator won over McAllister.

All of County officials on Rep

were elected.

Henry went to G.R. to-day. Dug

potatoes.

I cleaned the bath room

this P.M.

Red here for supper.

Edna had me at "O gee." I was feeling all of her emotions with those two simple words.

In 2020, we are experiencing a protracted Election Day with final results still to be determined 24 hours after the polls first began to close. Edna didn't have to wait nearly as long. Headlines from across the nation declared Roosevelt the winner by the next morning.

There is no euchre party for Henry and Edna as there was the day before.

On this day in 1936, they are back to digging potatoes and cleaning the bathroom.

In 2020, the rest of us are all waiting to see how our candidate of choice will fare.

O gee!
