Cloudy

L.A.S meeting to-day.

Didn't feel good enough to go.

Alice + kiddies + Jen were here

a few minutes this P.M.

Alice, Stanley + kiddies staying with Jen for a couple of weeks.

Alex and Edwina here a

little while this eve.

Ward Boulard here this eve

to help plan program for P.T.A.

Henry went fishing at Camel L.

this A.M. No luck.

Edna was member of the Ladies Aid Society in Bowne Center, Michigan, which she references in this entry. The Ladies Aid Hall (pictured left in current day -- restored and relocated, is now a museum), was located across the street from the Johnson family farm adjacent to the Methodist Church.

Alice was one of Edna's daughters. She and her husband Stanley were living in Detroit at this time and came home to Bowne Center for a visit. They were staying with Aunt Jen Pardee. Jen is the sister of Henry (Edna's husband and my great grandfather).

Alex and Edwina were good friends of Edna and Henry.

Ward Boulard and family were also from Bowne Center. Their farm featured a round barn, which still stands today (pictured left).
